Women’s Health Week Member Spotlight at Mount Annan Leisure Centre!

Celebrating Women’s Health Every Week

Mount Annan Leisure Centre marked Women's Health Week (1–5 Sept), but we know the conversation doesn’t end there. Women’s health deserves to be celebrated all year round, which is why we’re sharing the story of one of our members, Rachel Mueller.

Her journey

Rachel joined with a simple goal: to get stronger and build muscle after noticing some age-related strength loss. Rather than let it slide, she decided to take it on. For her, staying active means having the strength to handle whatever life throws her way. She’s found her stride in PWRX and strength classes, enjoying the mix of trainers and exercises that keep her focused on balance and strength.

The impact

Since then, she’s noticed real changes — more energy, less stress, and that uplifting feeling that comes from starting the day with movement.

Her advice

“Give it a go and don’t be scared to try new things. We thrive when we step outside our comfort zones.”

Rachel admits she wishes she’d started earlier, but is grateful for the difference exercise now makes in her everyday life.

Women's Health Week might be over, but the message is clear: prioritising your health isn’t about one week, it’s about small, consistent steps that make a lasting difference.

Rachel shows how our programs and community can make a real difference. By sharing these stories, we hope to encourage more women to put their health first and feel supported here at Mount Annan Leisure Centre.
