Every leisure centre relies on its dedicated early-bird staff, the ones who roll out of a warm bed and rock up at dawn, braving the frosty, pitch-black winter mornings day after day without fail. While the rest of the world is still hitting the snooze button, these team members are already out on the floor, prepping the equipment and setting the standard for the day ahead.
They don’t just show up to clock in; they bring the energy. This month, the focus is on highlighting the incredible staff who physically and mentally warm up the facilities with their resilient, upbeat attitudes. Their dedication is contagious, proving that a little cold weather is absolutely no match for a strong work ethic and positive outlook.
This month, the spotlight shines on one of our most consistent morning warriors on the team. Mount Annan is thrilled to introduce Ebony!

When asked to share her perspective on those early shifts, Ebony explained:
"Starting early each morning is all about creating a warm, welcoming environment for the members. I enjoy being part of the team that gets the centre ready, knowing that my work helps everyone have a great experience from the moment they walk through the doors."
When asked how she pushes through the frosty dawn wake-ups, she added:
"Despite the cold mornings, I stay motivated by the friendly team culture and the opportunity to make a positive difference."
Ebony's upbeat attitude, reliability, and commitment help set a positive tone for the day, inspiring both staff and members to start their day with energy and a smile. The entire team is grateful for her hard work and the positive impact she has on the centre every morning!
